On the weekend begining Thursday, April 28 and running through Sunday, May 1, 2005, a group of like-hearted spiritual adults gathered in the Oak Knoll Campground at the foot of Mount Palomar in San Diego County, California. Our goal in those four days was to form a Spiritual Community. Initially, we pitched our tents under stormy skies, but as the group intention would have it, by Saturday morning, the sky was blue, the sun shown brightly and the magic of Spirit awaited our discovery.
Various participants facilitated heart opening and body awareness Workshops including medicine wheel ceremonies, body painting, Qigong, ancient Goddess teachings, massage, Sufi dancing and spirit circles.
The closing night dance, accompanied by live saxophone and drum music, was electrifying; and several dancers "became the dance". That night we all slept under a brilliant and comforting canopy of stars as a shooting star arched across the skyscape.
These words and the following photos are an attempt to describe what can only be known through experience, as a spiritual community was formed, love did flow and we all went home wishing life could be like this always. The only thing we have to do now is believe it can.
